I have been looking for different loads and cant find to many on the net. Before I buy yet another reloading book I thought I would ask you guys for some help. Whats the best load you have found?

I would like to know what brass, primer, and powder and how much you use.

Thanks for the help.

here's what shoots best in my rifle, a CLE chamber. Win or LC brass. Rem 7 1/2 primer. 23.0gr H4895. This is max or very close to max. So back off 10% and work up carefully, as always. If you have Varget, Re15 or N140, try them before you buy H4895. A good barrel will usually shoot any of those powders well.

This bullet is meant to be fired from a magazine. I load mine to 2.250". Remember the seating die plug pushes on the bullet ogive, not the tip (at least it is supposed to). With the usual variance in bullet ogive location, using 2.250" vs. 2,260" OAL will keep all your loaded rounds short enough to fit in the magazine.

I'm using 24gr. Varget, R-P brass, CCI 400 primers, and averaging ~2650fps out of my J&T 20" upper. Accuracy report unavailable, I hate my trigger. For sure under an inch @ 100, though.

I'm using 22gr. H4895, CCI-400 primers, Winchester brass, and the Hornady 75G BTHP Match bullets... In my parcicular barrel, H4895 was slightly better than the several Varget or RL-15 loads I tried, though I know that's unusual.

I loaded up some 75bthp with CCI 400 primers and 23.8gr of h4895 (24.5gr is the max) and was quite happy with it. I got it from Hodgons website which has a few loads.

I had some damn nice groups with it at 50yds but wasnt able to take it out to 100yds. I think I will continue to use this one but will continue the search, just because it is so damn fun making and trying new loads.

Has anyone used AA2230 to work up a load with this bullet? I have current manuals from Lee and Lyman, the Lee manual lists the max charge @24 grains versus a max in the Lyman data showing 23 grains.

My source tells me they fly best between 2750 and 2800 fps.

In my 20" Lothar Walther barrel with a Wylde chamber that is 24.5 grains of Varget.

24-24.5 grs of RE 15 with the Hornady 75 gr BTHP is one of the most common loads for 200-300 yrds used on the line for High Power comp XTC. Some even use it for the 600 yrd.

I had this exact same experience with my 18" White Oaks barrel. I tried both Varget and RL15 first, as they've been my go to powders for both my 223 and 308. I could not get the results I wanted, so I tried some H4895 that I was given. The following load outperformed both Varget and RL15 in my setup:

Hornady 75gr BTHP
Winchester Brass
CCI BR4 Primers
23.2gr H4895
COAL 2.26"

23.0gr of Varget was my next best load, all other things remaining equal.
